The Artist’s Way Celebrates 30 Years

About Julia Cameron & “The Artist’s Way”

30 years ago, Julia Cameron released The Artist’s Way, a self-help book designed to teach people to unlock their creativity and overcome the doubts that block creative work. The Artist’s Way is a staple in the Nine Muses Lab, and through the weekly exercises and challenges, the book teaches us to un-train habits that close us off from the muses and build new practices that foster inspiration and nurture “creative consciousness.”

Watch here.

“Author Julia Cameron on Morning Pages and Overcoming Perfectionism”

In this interview with the podcast Working, Julia discusses the role of spirituality in creativity and argues that her methods are helpful for believers and atheists alike. She digs into the benefits of morning pages and helps Working host June Thomas overcome her inner perfectionist. Listen here.

“Julia Cameron Says You Can Get Creative Indoors”

The author of The Artist’s Way talks about her path to self-help stardom and the “spiritual crisis” brought on by the pandemic in this New Yorker article by Rachel Syme. “I think it’s important to me to keep creativity around me and in me,” Cameron says. “And, when I am doing something creative, I don’t feel trapped. I feel liberated.” Read here.

In honor of last week’s International Transgender Day of Visibility, Chella uplifted Trans Week, an initiative to digitally mobilize action in support for trans young people and the organizers and communities fighting alongside them. You can visit the Trans Week website for more resources — ways to take action, donate, educate yourself, and more!

To be in love with someone is the most intense of all emotions. When you’re in love with someone, to an extent, that person automatically becomes your muse for things, because you draw so much emotion and inspiration out of your experiences with them.
